William James ‘Bill’ Pooley, 60, died Wednesday, March 14 in Iowa as the result of a fall.

He was born and raised in Oakdale. He moved to Oklahoma where he became a production manager for Hughes Tools. After leaving Oklahoma, he pursued his love of hunting by becoming a gunsmith. He spent the last few years of his life in Omaha, Neb.

Mr. Pooley was happiest when he was part of family gatherings.

He is survived by his son, Bill (Jamie) Pooley; father, Harry Pooley; sisters, Jane (David Torres) Pooley; Louise (Larry) Sanders; grandchildren Marcus and Nicole Pooley; and three nieces.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Pooley; and one nephew.
