Vilma Maria Barquero, 75, died Tuesday, Aug. 4 at Oak Valley Care Center.

She was a native of Costa Rica and had lived in Oakdale for 10 years.

Miss Barquero had owned a public bus company in Costa Rica for 25 years.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by her niece and caregiver, Roxanne Rojas; sisters, Mariela Sarrade of Oakdale, Bertaticia Barquero of Costa Rica; brother, Ricardo Barquero of North Carolina; 16 nieces and nephews; and 34 great-nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 28 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
