Silvio William ‘Papa’ Rossini, Jr., 70, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013 at Memorial Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

He was born in Modesto to Silvio and Ada Rossini and lived his entire life in Oakdale farming and driving truck on the family ranch. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, faith and love for family and friends. Those who knew him know that he did it his way.

Mr. Rossini enjoyed cheering on his Giants, trips to Carmel, and Sunday family dinners. He also loved being outdoors helping his brother-in-law, Scott, work cattle on the family ranch. He really looked forward to the morning “news” at the Corner Cafe and at Charlie’s Cow Track.

The family expresses thanks to Dr. Peter Lai, Mari Rossini, Dr. Edward Chock, Mimi, and their staff for their care and concern.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jane; son, Michael (Mari); brothers, Jim (Ginny), David; mother-in-law, Bertie Armstrong; sister-in-law, Jacque Armstrong; brother-in-law, Scott (Lori) Armstrong; two nephews and four nieces who knew him as ‘Papa.’

He was preceded in death by his parents, Silvio and Ada; brother, Donald; father-in-law, Dennis; and brother-in-law, Bill Armstrong.

Per his request there will be no service.
