Sean Joseph O’Hearn passed away suddenly on January 6, 2026.
Sean was born on November 26, 1972, in Oakland, California, and spent his early years in Fremont. During high school, he moved to Oakdale to live with his father and stepmother, John and Linda O’Hearn.
He attended Oakdale High School and graduated with the Class of 1990. Sean pursued his love of sports by joining the football, wrestling, baseball, and track and field teams. After high school, Sean attended San Joaquin Delta College and Modesto Junior College before graduating from California State University, Chico, with a bachelor’s degree.
Sean was employed at Shea Homes for over 20 years.
Sean loved life deeply. He was happiest when surrounded by friends and family, and he had a natural ability to bring people together. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking, and spending time outdoors with the people he loved. He traveled to the Olympics in Paris; visited Ireland, Spain, and England; and proudly climbed Half Dome more than once.
Sean’s fun-loving, social, and energetic spirit made him a friend to everyone he met. His outgoing personality, infectious laughter, and genuine kindness will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Sean is preceded in death by his grandparents and a nephew.
Sean is survived by his father and stepmother, John and Linda O’Hearn; his mother and stepfather, Joyce and Larry Piquet; his siblings, Michelle Truitt (Gary), Heather Freitas (Mark), Patrick O’Hearn (Shea), Lori Cleary (Andy), and Jacqueline Rose; and his uncles, aunts, cousins, and other extended family.
We welcome all who knew and loved Sean O’Hearn to celebrate his life with us on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Riverbank Community Center, 3600 Santa Fe Street, Riverbank at 1 p.m.
