Ronald J. Bennett, 64, died Monday, Feb. 15.

He was born in Modesto to John T. and Estelle Bennett of Hughson. He was the youngest of three sons. He was raised in Hughson where he graduated high school.

Mr. Bennett enlisted in the Navy in 1963. He served his country with honor for three-and-a-half years during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife and caregiver, Desiree Bennett of Oakdale; children, Jody Bennett of Hughson and Jayme Bennett-Griffin of Oakdale; the mother of his children, Gloria Alves; brother, Carlos (Diane) Bennett of Virginia; granddaughters, Jade Bennett and Hunter Rein Griffin; mother-in-law, Barbara Swink; and sister-in-law, Roxanne Sutton, both of Oakdale; nieces, Carla (Russ) Clancy and Caren (Carlos) Cajares, both of Virginia; nephews, Eric (Jessika) Sutton and Justin (Maria) Sutton, both of Oakdale; cousin by marriage, Brian Jones; seven great-nephews; one great-niece; and one great-great niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John E. Bennett; and great-nephew, Christopher Bennett.

Private service. A celebration of life was held Feb. 27 in Oakdale.
