RICHARD ELIAS JORGENSEN JR. (DICK) obit

Richard (Dick) Jorgensen Jr. was born June 23, 1938, in Los Angeles, CA to mother, Theresa Don born in Belgium and father, Richard Elias Jorgensen Sr. born in Washington state. Richard was placed in a Carmélite Catholic School for boys in Los Angeles from first grade to 12th grade, graduating with honors.

Richard proceeded to UC Davis where he graduated again with honors. Richard helped pay his way through college by sleeping in the horse barn and watch the female horses getting ready to give birth. This was a two-year position. Richard also started his own mule packing service in the summer with help from the forestry service. He went through Kennedy Meadows often.

Graduating from UC Davis with honors, Richard chose Law School and lasted one year, then decided he wanted to learn how to fly planes. He felt the Navy was a good choice. He could avoid the draft and learn how to fly planes. The Navy put him through a Law education program to complete his education.

He had a trust set up for $4.5 million going to the UC Davis Horse Barn.

Any other memorial offerings can also be sent to UC Davis. Please call Karen for more information at 209-581-4751.
