Reba Gillespie, 78, died Saturday, June 5 at Oak Valley Hospital.

She was born Reba Rose Smith in Holdenville, OK. She migrated to California as a teenager and never looked back, making California her home for the rest of her life. She first lived in Fremont for over 25 years, then in Oakdale.

Mrs. Gillespie loved her family and friends and lived her life by and through love. She is loved and will be missed.

She is survived by her children, Tamara Calkins of Oakdale, Vickie Kent of San Jose; sisters, Virginia Fulmore of Riverbank, Melba Alviso of Livermore; and grandchildren, Spencer Kent, Alexis Kent, and Chelsea Calkins.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16 at Lakewood Memorial Park and Funeral Home, Hughson.
