Michael Polen passed away November 19, 2017 at his home in Oakdale, California.
Michael was born November 30, 1963, in Anaheim, CA to Darwin and Beth Polen. He lived in Southern California for many years before moving to Twain Harte in 1989 to join the rest of his family. His first job in the area was working with his father at MRL Industries. After MRL he found work as a tow truck driver for both Vic’s and Ahearn’s located in Sonora, CA. In early 2000 he moved to Oakdale, CA were he would remain for the next 18 years. During this time in Oakdale he worked for West Coast Materials for 10 years and then to his last job of eight years at OSH in Tracy, CA. as a hostler. It was in Oakdale where he would find and build his extended family of friends. With his larger than life personality and willingness to help others, he was always adding friends.
Michael's hobbies included rebuilding or upgrading almost any vehicle he could; taking his jeeps on 4WD trails like the Rubicon and Slick Rock and camping. He was always helping friends and family with their own projects before finishing his own.
Michael is survived by Mother, Beth Polen of Sonora; and his Brother; Charles Polen (Tori) of Twain Harte.
A funeral will be held December 9th, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, 830 West F Street, Oakdale, CA 95361 with a Celebration of Life to immediately follow (12 p.m.) at Oakdale Senior Center, 450 East A Street Oakdale, CA 95361.
