MARJORIE ELLEN ZUMWALT
June 26, 1938 June 20, 2017
ZUMWALT Marge K

Marjorie passed away, with her loving daughters by her side, on June 20, 2017 after a courageous battle with stage IV cancer. She was born in Sonora, CA to Hans and Mary Dues. After the death of her parents, Marjorie moved to Oakdale at the age of 16.
In 1956, while working as a carhop waitress, she met the love of her life, Leroy. They married after two short months of dating and later welcomed daughters, Darlene (Nunes) and Diane (Whitehead). Marjorie worked at Hunt Wesson for over 40 years.
Marjorie and Leroy were blessed to be married for 60 loving years. Together, they enjoyed traveling with friends, cards night, road trips with ice cream cones and just being with each other.
With the passing of Leroy in February, a little piece of Marjorie was lost. She longed for the day they would be together again. And just as Buck Owen’s song tells:
“The gray skies are gone you’re back in my arms now where you belong we are together again.”
Marjorie leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love. She will forever be loved and missed by all she knew. Grandma, your life was full of loving deeds, forever thoughtful of our special needs.
“Today and tomorrow, my whole life through, I will always love and cherish you.”
