Manuel Garza, of Oakdale, CA passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 28, 2018 at the age of 88. He is preceded in death by his parents, Tomas Garza and Basilisa Martinez, and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Eva Garza; three sons, Tomas Garza, Richard Garza (wife Nancy Garza) and Daniel Garza; four grandchildren Erica Barnes (husband Brian Barnes), Dylan Garza, Heather Andrews-Shearer (Franklin Shearer) and Malia Garza; four great grandchildren, Brooke and Shane Barnes and Preston and Kai Shearer; brother Americo Garza, four sisters and numerous other loved ones.
Manuel and his wife Eva moved to Riverbank in 1959. He resided with his family in Oakdale, CA since 1977. Before retiring Manuel served as an electrician at Contadina Foods for over 27 years. He was a simple yet proud man who enjoyed sharing stories of his accomplishments and where he came from. He was a loving husband and father. He found great joy in being a grandfather. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, raising beef cattle, music, a good barbecue, socializing, and trips to the casino.
Manuel was always willing to lend a hand and full of great ideas. His big heart, gentle eyes and caring spirit will be missed by many. He truly loved life. The memories created with his family and friends will forever be cherished.
A memorial service will be held at Oakdale Memorial Chapel Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., 830 West F Street, Oakdale. Burial to follow.
