Luafton Hanson, known to most as Lu, passed away on February 20, 2026, at the age of 42.
Lu was born on September 25, 1983, and was originally from Oakdale, California. For the past 16 years, he proudly called Manteca home.
Lu worked as a high-voltage electrician and took tremendous pride in his trade. He was employed with CANUS and was a respected member of IBEW Local 1245, where he worked alongside many brothers in the electrical industry. Known for his strong work ethic and loyalty, Lu was someone others could depend on both on and off the job.
Outside of work, Lu lived life the way he did everything else – loud, unapologetic, and full of energy. He loved his Harley and was a proud member of Diablo Crew MC Foothills. He was also a member of E Clampus Vitus Chapter 58, where he enjoyed the camaraderie and traditions of the Clampers. Whether he was riding, camping, fishing, spending time at the river, or surrounded by friends and family, Lu made sure life was lived to the fullest.
Lu had a presence that could never go unnoticed. He was loud, unfiltered, funny, and always looking for a reaction. He was strong, determined, and fiercely loyal to the people he loved. He was the life of the party and the one telling stories that had everyone laughing – and he leaves behind enough “Lu stories” to last a lifetime.
More than anything, Lu was a man who took care of his people. He had a big heart and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, but his greatest pride was his family.
Lu was preceded in death by his mother, Billie Elkins.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Brandi; his children Alyssa, Callie, Danielle Seamas (Angela), Andrew Gamez (Jaelyn), and his grandchildren Kinzleigh and Maddox. He is also survived by his brothers Kenneth Elkins (Charmaane), Alan Elkins (Mara), and Kevin Elkins (Kyle), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who will carry his memory forward.
Lu was proud of the brotherhood he shared with his fellow members of IBEW Local 1245 and his Diablo Crew MC Foothills brothers.
Lu’s presence was larger than life, and the space he leaves behind will be deeply felt by everyone who knew him. The world will feel a little quieter without Lu in it, but the memories, laughter, and stories he left behind will echo for a lifetime.
P.L. Fry and Son is honored to be serving the Hanson family. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at noon at MRPS Hall, 133 N. Grant St., Manteca, CA.
