Leora A. (Seeman) McDowell

Leora A. (Seeman) McDowell, 86, died peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 3.
She was born to Ruby and William Seeman in San Luis Obispo. She married William J. McDowell on Oct. 30, 1944 and they raised their children in Oakdale.
Mrs. McDowell worked for Bank of America and was active in the Boy Scouts and Camp Fire Girls, and PTA when her children were young. She and her husband operated a land leveling business for many years.
In later years, she and her husband traveled throughout the western U.S. and to visit their grandchildren in Wisconsin.
For many years she attended the Church of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her children, Bill and Irene; sisters, Iola Young, Lola Landes; brother, Richard Whitman; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William McDowell; and sister, Iona Case.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24 at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery.
