Richardson Karin K

Karin Richardson, 77, died at Stanford Hospital on September 3, 2017 after battling a brief illness.
Karin was born in Germany on August 7, 1940 and emigrated to the United States in 1964 with her then husband, Robert LeCouve. She settled in Modesto, CA where she lived “The American Dream” by building a career, buying a house, and living a great middle class life. Karin was a savvy businesswoman spending her entire career working her way up in the car business. Karin and Robert divorced in 1980 and she remarried Larry Richardson in 1981. Karin and Larry were long-time residents of Oakdale where they owned and operated their car business, Richardson Dodge-Chrysler-Plymouth for nearly 30 years.
Karin was an active member of the Oakdale Golf and Country Club where she was an avid and skilled bridge player. The bridge ladies will confirm that she would often take them to the cleaners. Karin also loved playing card games on the computer, gambling with her sister, enjoyed eating and making German foods, and wearing anything with animal print. Most of all, she loved her family and pets; especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Charlotte Sussenbach; brother, Jurgen Sussenbach; two cousins, Ellen Miner and Gerda Beckstein; and her husband, Larry Richardson. She is survived by her children, Stephen LeCouve and Stefanie Cornell; her sister, Barbara Ciuffo; her nephew, Christopher Ciuffo; and her four grandchildren, Jarod, Jacob, and Jacquelyn LeCouve and Dylan Cornell.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 1 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club. Donations can be made in honor of Karin to American Cancer Society or German Shepherd Rescue.
