John Inacio Rocha, 77, died unexpectedly at his home in Escalon on Tuesday, Oct. 26.

He was born on April 8, 1933 in Terceia, Azores. He was a hard working dairyman and had been a resident of Escalon for the past 39 years. He was a Director and a member of the Oakdale F.E.S. and 1st Director of Escalon Our Lady of Fatima, and a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Phyllis Rocha of Escalon; three children, Frank Rocha of Turlock, John I. and his wife Rosemary Rocha of Escalon, and Teresa and her husband Rick Barrow of Escalon; grandchildren Samantha Rocha, Krysten Rocha and Megan Rocha, all of Escalon as well as his siblings Juvenal Rocha of Chino, Ralph Rocha of Delhi, Mary Rocha of Arkansas and Joe Rocha, also of Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his son Manuel A. Rocha and his parents Joao and Alexandria Rocha.

Rosary was Monday, Nov. 1 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Mass was on Tuesday, Nov. 2 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with burial following at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Escalon.
