Mary Jo “Jodie” (McCown) Mazzariello, 67, died Monday, July 6 after a battle with cancer.
She was born to the late James Robert McCown Jr. and Gertrude Lea McCown in Odessa, TX.
She graduated from Andrews High School in 1960 and earned her B.S. degree from USF in San Francisco.
She worked in managerial accounting for various high tech companies in the Bay Area while living in Campbell. After moving to the Central Valley she became a realtor for PMZ in Oakdale in 2005. She was living and working in Oakdale when she became ill with cancer in late January of this year.
Ms. Mazzariello was a member of the Church of Christ and was a faithful servant of the Lord since childhood.
She was a wonderful woman who was always kind, forgiving and tolerant of others. She was a “people” person and truly loved and enjoyed all of her family, friends, and acquaintances.
Her family thanks those who gave visits, calls, cards, words, thoughts and especially prayers during her illness. They find comfort in knowing how much she was loved by all of you.
She is survived by her daughter, Tami Jo Mazzariello; brother, Jim (Brenda) McCown of Copperopolis; sisters, Sue Huff of Oakdale and Sandy Jones of Merced; grandson, Ryan Neil (Rachel) Mazzariello; granddaughter, Rhiannon Vaniese Mazzariello; and great-granddaughter, Riley Jo Mazzariello; as well as many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Cecil Kenneth McCown.
A memorial service will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with the official service beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 18 at the Church of Christ, 33 No. Lee Ave., Oakdale.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society or World Bible School, P.O. Box 3700, Visalia, CA 93278-3700.
