Jesse T. Ybarra, 83, died Tuesday, Aug. 31 at his Oakdale home.

He was a native of Glendale and lived in Oakdale for 20 years.

Mr. Ybarra served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He had worked as a truck driver for 60 years.

He is survived by his children, Susan Brophy of Modesto, Jesse Ybarra of Sunland, Edward Ybarra of Atwater; sisters, Mercy Ybarra-Mendoza of San Diego, Rosemarie Ybarra-Rahall of Anaheim; brother, Nicholas Ybarra of Japan; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Ybarra in 2009.

Visitation will be from noon to 2p.m. on Monday, Sept. 13 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m., also at the chapel.

Burial with Military Honors will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 14 at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
