Jack Elvin Whitt, 81, of Oakdale died Monday, Aug. 16 at Emanuel Hospital, Turlock.

He was a native of Virginia and lived in Oakdale for over 30 years.

Mr. Whitt had served in the National Guard and worked as a salesman for Turner, Tru-Value, and Ace Hardware stores for 40 years.

He was a member of the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs, Lodges #170 and #228 and had served as a Past Grandmaster of the District. He served on the board of Oaklawn Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Whitt of Oakdale; children, Jack Whitt, Jr. of Laverne, Sandra Biere of Cameron Park, Janet Mossoletti of Calistoga, Stephen Whitt of Middletown, Donna Grey of Napa, Don Whitt of Rohnert Park; stepchildren, Brian Wood of San Jose, Machelle Christensen of Modesto; 18 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation was held Aug. 20. Funeral services were held Aug. 21 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, burial followed at Oaklawn Memorial Park.
