Glenn Schutt, 91 passed away peacefully at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. Glenn grew up in Turlock, CA and served as a Merchant Marine during World War II. He survived the sinking of his ship by the Japanese in 1943 in the Gulf of Aden. He worked for international construction firms as an engineer and spent time in various locations around the globe, including 20 years in Africa before retiring and moving to Oakdale to live with family.
He is survived by his three children, Kathy Guthrie (Bob) and Kerry Cogburn of Oakdale and son, Glenn Randall (Lorrie) of Texas. Glenn was the proud Grandfather of nine and Great Grandfather of 11.
Remembrances in Glenn’s honor can be made to the Alexander Cohen Hospice House, Hughson, CA.
A celebration of his life will be held on February 13, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club.
