George E Dunn passed away unexpectedly on August 15, 2016 at the age of 73 while camping in the Sierras. He was born on October 4, 1943 in Oakdale California to Cedric and Lois Dunn. George entered the Navy in 1961 after graduating high school, and retired in 1982. During the Navy he and his family lived in Norfolk, VA, Imperial Beach, CA and San Diego CA. Upon retiring from the military he and his family moved to Orland, CA where he was the transportation supervisor for the Orland School District. George then went to work for the California Highway Patrol and moved to Kingsburg, CA. He left the CHP in 1992 and went to work as a truck driver until his retirement. George enjoyed life, he liked camping and traveling. During his retirement George worked for the Kingsburg Community Church. George enjoyed talking to and helping people from the community and church. George leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Judy, two children Fred Dunn and Tracy (Jennifer) Dunn, as well as siblings Mary Erickson, Evalyn Nau and Jim Moore and many nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents Cedric and Lois Dunn, as well as his older brother Paul Dunn. George will be laid to rest on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Kingsburg Cemetery and his Memorial Service is scheduled at the Kingsburg Community Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016. All are welcome at his burial and Memorial Service.
