Everett went home to be with his Savior on Dec. 7, 2016. He passed away to rest peacefully at the age of 76 on December 7th, 2016 surrounded by his friends and family.
Everett grew up in Decatur, Illinois, born to Ruth Opal and Loren Dale Cox and moved west when he was 18. Everett is preceded in his death by his wife Mary Ann Vegas-Cox.
Everett is survived by 5 of his 7 siblings Nellie, Joann, Dale, Norma and Bill; and by his son Larry Cox (Linda), daughter Christina Cox McGlothlin (Brian) and grandchildren, Logan, Caila, Cory and Brynna (Jared), as well as, his step-daughter Rosemarie Vegas-Pettit and step-son Denny Vegas (Teri) and grandchildren, Jessica Vegas-Terczynski (Jason) and Brent Vegas. While young, Everett would sky-dive and later became a Chef. He eventually ended up in Oakdale and retired as the head Chef from The Nutcracker Restaurant in Oakdale, CA. Even in his retirement he enjoyed cooking for large groups, and in his spare time he loved to go deep-sea fishing. He also enjoyed serving his local community cooking at the FES Hall for Portuguese events.
A graveside service will be held on January 14th, at 11 a.m. at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Oakdale located at 431 N. Sierra Ave, Oakdale CA.
