ELLA (MICKIE) AMANDA MILAM
MILAM Ella K

Born June 17, 1920 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to parents Walter Scott Considine and Nora Considine. Moved to California and settled in Lindsey where her father Walter was employed with Lindsey Olive Company. Mickie started kindergarten and went through Lindsey grammar school through first year of high school before moving to Oakdale where she attended and graduated from Oakdale High School and Modesto Junior College. Mickie married John Wesley Milam in September of 1940 and had two daughters, Michel (Gordon) Griesner and Gail (Larry) Hunt. She was preceded in death by Wes, her parents and brother David (Doris) Considine and sister Ethel (Doug) Cross.
Mickie and Wes moved to the ranch in Knights Ferry where she was a member of the Knights Ferry Methodist Church, president of Mothers Club and a 4H leader. She was a member of the Knights Ferry Eastern Star where she received her 50 year pin. She worked at Hershey Chocolate when they first opened and was the first hostess in the visitors department. After retirement she moved to Modesto for a few years where she enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Modesto Niners golf, played bridge with her group every Monday, played Mahjong every other Wednesday and was a charter member of her Pinecones lunch group once a month. She moved back to Oakdale in 2003.
Mickie is survived by her daughters, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. A private funeral was held.
