Douglas Lee Condon passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 23, 2026, at the age of 73 at his home in Oakdale.
Doug was born on April 21,1952, in Woodland, California, and grew up in Orinda. He graduated from Miramonte High School, class of 1970. An avid outdoorsman, Doug’s most treasured memories were formed in Kennedy Meadows, where he spent time with his father and later worked as a packer and guide after high school. It was in those very mountains that he met Sue, the love of his life. They married in 1973 and began building a life together in Oakdale, where they raised their children, Andy and Katie.
He spent the majority of his career working as a sheet metal shop foreman but it was with his friends and family that he lived life to the fullest. He found his greatest contentment in simple pleasures: duck hunting, fishing, playing softball at Kerr Park and later Valley Home. He also enjoyed collecting unique antiques, playing games, and teaching his kids and grandkids the strategies of playing cards. He could also be found watching his favorite movies, often reciting every line, or late evening in the backyard tending to a bonfire.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Condon, DVM, and Constance “Connie” Smith Condon, as well as his sister, Deborah “Debbie” Condon Byrum, and in-laws James and Kathryn Sarratt. He is survived by his wife, Sue Condon; his son, Andrew Condon; his daughter, Katharyn Condon Stone (James); his granddaughters, Emmalee and Jamielynn Stone; his stepmother, Mary Graff Condon; and many friends and family throughout Northern California and the Pacific Northwest. Doug will be missed and remembered by those who knew and loved him.
