DAVID FLEMING
March 1960 – June 2018
Fleming obit
Oakdale (Cupertino) Resident
Our beloved David (Dave) passed away unexpectedly on Father’s Day, June 17, in Selma, CA. Our hearts are broken but we are grateful and our lives enriched beyond measure to have known him. Born in Buffalo, NY where he lived until 1969 when his family moved to Cupertino, CA. A graduate of Cupertino High School 1978, De Anza College 1984, Heald Business College 1989, and National University 1995 in Business Administration & Accounting, David worked at JC Penney, Genus, and since 2004 at CPFD (Coastal Pacific Food Distributors) in Stockton, CA, where he made a full transition from accounting manager to IT operations, becoming the quintessential expert respected and relied upon by all.
A resident of Oakdale, CA since 2003, he served on his local homeowners association, and was an avid trapshooter of the California Golden State Trapshooters Association for 20 years, serving on the board as Treasurer and President, volunteering countless hours in organizing and coordinating many events.
Dave will especially be remembered for his “can do” willingness and “Here’s what you need to do” spirit, and then he would help you do it!
Always engaging, fun, and the consummate host, Dave’s positive presence will be in our hearts and memories forever! Thank you, Dave, for touching our lives with your love, friendship, and generosity! Here’s to a good man and a life well lived. You will be missed!
Dave is predeceased by his mother, Marjorie Metz Fleming. He is survived by his father, Roger Fleming; brothers, Roger Fleming Jr. (Susie) and Bruce Fleming (Donna); nephew, Connor Fleming; niece, Willow Fleming; the light and love of his life, Paula Hinshaw; dear friends, Rosemary Chivers and Cecelia Brown; and many friends and colleagues.
A celebration of Dave’s life will be held on Sunday, July 8 at The River Mill, 1672 W. Bowman Road, French Camp, CA 95231. Please RSVP to one of Dave’s loved ones. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice in Dave’s memory would be appreciated.
