Clifford ‘Gene’ Greger, 82, died Wednesday, Feb. 2.

He was a graduate of Oakdale High School and was an active member of the Oakdale community for more than 67 years.

Mr. Greger was a welder at Van Pelt Fire Truck company for many years and was the owner of Gene’s Gas Service, a local propane business in Oakdale and surrounding areas.

Greger Street in Oakdale was named in honor of him and his family. He was a very active member of Oakdale Golf and Country Club and served as Captain of the senor group of golfers for many years. He loved spending time with his family and many friends, fishing, and RV traveling. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include wife, Betty Greger; daughter, Jody Greger; stepchildren, Michael Hendrix, Susan Pecchenino; sister, Betty Webb; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Private family services. A celebration of life was held Feb. 5 at Oakdale Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Community Hospice Foundation, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA 95356.
