Clark Mathies, 89, died Friday, March 26 at Oak Valley Hospital.

He was a native of Oklahoma and lived in Oakdale for 53 years.

Mr. Mathies was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He had been a crane operator for 29 years at Sharpe’s Army Depot.

He had attended the United Methodist Church in Oakdale.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Mae Mathies of Oakdale; children, Gloria Jenness and Douglas Mathies, both of Modesto; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 1 at Burwood Cemetery, Escalon. No visitation.
