Christene (Clark) Houk, 56, of Oakdale died Thursday, July 24, 2014, after a 10-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born Jan. 8, 1958 in Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of George and Amelia Clark. She grew up in Alhambra and is a graduate of Alhambra High School. She attended the University of Southern California before moving to San Jose.
She worked in the banking industry for 35-plus years and enjoyed helping people who needed help acquiring a home. Her career spanned her time in San Jose as well as many years in the Central Valley including the Oakdale and Modesto areas. She was also a gifted musician with a beautiful singing voice. She enjoyed volunteering in her community.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Houk; daughters, Stefanie Jarman (Joseph) and Lea Cypert (Andy); sons, Danny Vuko and David Houk (Cordula); granddaughters Maddy Jarman, Peri Houk and Carolynn Cypert and great grandson, Cody Cypert.
She was part of a large, caring family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 16 at 1 p.m. at the Reata, 160 N. Third Ave., Oakdale.
