Bruce Porter passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, shortly after his 80th birthday. He was born March 27, 1946, in Modesto, California, and raised in Waterford.

A standout athlete at Oakdale High School, Bruce excelled in football and track, once holding a National Junior Olympics record in the 4x100 relay. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1973 as a Specialist Fifth Class.

He built a 32-year career with Foster Poultry Farms, retiring as Vice President. He was an avid golfer who played more than 270 courses worldwide.

He is survived by his children, Yvonne (Greg) Breasher and Paul (Kadi) Porter; stepchildren Sheri (Randy) LaCross, Teresa Benedict and Rick Soderquist; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marge; his son, Bruce Jr.; and his parents.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. April 20 at Turlock Memorial Park and Funeral Home. Donations may be made to New Life Christian Center in Turlock or Global Hospice & Palliative Care in Modesto.
