  Bobby Ray Smith, 63, died Saturday, July 24 at his home in Escalon, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Modesto on June 28, 1947 and raised in Manteca where he graduated from Manteca High, class of 1965. He served in the Army at Vietnam and worked for LOF Glass for 42 years. He loved camping, fishing and golfing. He was an avid 49er, Giants and Warrior fan.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 20 years, Judy; his children, Michell Aksland (Ron) of Oakdale, Kimberly Wirtz (Dan) of Riverbank, Gena Harriet (Pierre) of Oakland, Bobby Smith Jr. (Kathryn) of Modesto, Joette Shulte (John) of Los Angeles, Jackie Gregory (Russ) of Escalon, Jana Honeycutt (Matt) of Alabama, Jennifer Blevin (Jeremy) of Utah, Dusty Fox (Julie) of Escalon; 23 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; mother Dolly Smith of Manteca; brothers Sonny and Dennis Smith and sister Verna Reynolds, all of Manteca.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbert Smith and brother Wilbert Smith Jr.

The viewing will be 30 minutes prior to the service.

Services will be on Wednesday, July 28 at First Baptist Church at 10 a.m., 1511 Catherine Way in Escalon.

Graveside services to follow at Burwood Cemetery, 28320 East River Road in Escalon.
