Beverly Ruth Buck Brunker died quietly at home on Monday, February 13.
Beverly was born in Philadelphia where she grew up and went to the University of Pennsylvania where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. After college she married her husband Robert and they moved to Knights Ferry to live their entire married life together on the family ranch there. Beverly was well known among friends for her fabulous cooking abilities and enjoyed hosting large dinner parties on the ranch.
Later in her life she did post graduate work at California State University Turlock to study a passion of art history. She also enjoyed traveling, swimming and playing bridge with friends. She was a brilliant woman and will be missed. She was predeceased by her youngest daughter Pamela and recently by her husband of 64 years, Robert Henry Brunker. Beverly is survived by her son, Bob Brunker of Knights Ferry, her daughter, Leslie Brunker of Portland, Oregon. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Eska Brunker, her granddaughters UB and Nicole Brunker, and her grandson, Alex Brunker.
Beverly was an active member of the community and served on committees and boards for the Family Service Agency, American Association of University Women, League of Women Voters, Zero Population Growth, and Oak Valley Hospital. If so moved, please make a contribution in her honor to one of the following organizations: Capital Public Radio, American Civil Liberties Union, McHenry Museum, or Community Hospice. There will be a private family gathering only.
