ALIDA CHRISTINA VINK

With her family by her side, Alida Christina Vink passed away peacefully to the arms of the lord on March 30, 2017, at the age of 93. She was born to Adrianus and Alida (Warmerdam) Dykzeul, in Spaarnwoude, The Netherlands. She was the fourth of 13 children. She grew up there and lived there in WWII in Nazi occupied Holland. In 1948, along with all but one, her entire family immigrated to the USA, settling in Tracy, CA. There she married her beloved husband, Bartolomeus Peterus Vink. They had four young children when she was widowed, all too young, at the age of 29.
Her life centered around her family and her deep and abiding faith in the Catholic Church. She was active at St. Mary’s Church in Oakdale in the Legion of Mary and Communion Ministry. Alida is survived by her children, Coby Vink and Lia Ardis, of Oakdale, Peter (Jane) and Bart (Mary) Vink, of Tracy; her grandchildren, Michelle, Brad (Lisa), Bart (Melissa), Grant (Rachelle), and Ross (Ashley) Ardis, Matthew (Kelly), Jake (Angela), and Lucas Vink, Coby (Matt) Turner, Lia (Nic) Rodriguez, Casey, Nicole, and Kelly Vink, and 19 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Ann VanRuiten, Thea Straathof, Aty Coleman, Ludy (Frank) Damrell, and Coby Rice; her sisters-in-law, Ann Dykzeul and Barbara Dykzeul.
Alida was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her son-in-law, Rick Ardis; her granddaughter-in-law, Annie Ardis; her siblings, Pete, Ted, Art, and John Dykzeul, Christina Zwart, Maria Stokman, and Truus VanNes; her brothers-in-law, Gerrit VanNes, Gerrit Zwart, Nick Stokman, John VanRuiten, and Clayton Coleman.
She will be dearly missed and always loved.
Her family would like to recognize and give special thanks to her wonderful caretakers, Melody Clayton and Cece Rodriguez, to Graceful Living, and to Dr. David Olson.
A rosary/vigil will be held Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 7 p.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 10 a.m., both at St. Mary’s, 1225 Olive Street, Oakdale, CA.
