Hi everyone, hope you are enjoying this warm weather!

*****

This week I would like to honor the life of a very special Valley Home man.

The life of an amazing man, a wonderful family man, a man who worked hard his entire life.

It is with great sadness we share the passing of Garry Steele on Friday, March 13, 2026 at his home. Garry struggled with health issues the last couple of years. A Valley Home resident of 49 years, he was married to his sweet Loretta for 62 years. Garry was deeply loved by his Valley Home community. A few years ago, he and his precious wife Loretta were chosen as the Grand Marshals of the Valley Home Christmas Parade. It was a beautiful starry night at Christmas time; a very special night … the stars in the heavens shine even brighter now. We will miss you, Garry.

Garry is survived by his devoted wife Loretta; daughter Kathy Steele Shepherd and her husband Phillip Shepherd; grandson Zach Shepherd and his wife Emily and their children, Garry’s beloved great grandchildren, Brooks and Molly; granddaughter Emily Shepherd Worley and her husband Garrett and their children, Garry’s beloved great grandchildren, Heston, Graham and Callum.

Garry will be greatly missed by many.

Please, in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations in Garry’s memory to go to our Little Valley Home Community Park.

The family invites everyone to Garry’s Celebration of Life: Thursday, March 26, 10:30am at Burwood Cemetery, 28320 E. River Road, Escalon.

Reception to follow at Escalon Sportsman Club, 25195 E. River Road, Escalon.

Garry, go rest high on that mountain … you will be deeply missed.
