Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing well. I think a bit of winter weather has come back to visit with us. We had those beautiful sunny afternoons and now the rain is coming down in buckets here in Valley Home. And yes, we definitely do need the rain. It will be so nice to see all the beautiful flowers this spring. It’s always a special joy to see those bright orange California poppies along the roadside in early spring.

It was really nice to see so many of you enjoying special plans for Valentine’s Day. One of the most special Valentine surprises for folks was a beautiful serenade by Derick Sturke and his amazing group. Even Derick’s wife Sue was blessed with a Valentine’s serenade, even though it came in the form of hearing the group practicing at Sue and Derick’s home. What a special Valentine’s Day this wonderful group made for so many.

Our Valley Home neighbors, Jason and Dariene Airola, were blessed with a quick visit home from son Leon, who is going to school in Wyoming. Leon had a great co-pilot for the quick trip home. He and his fellow WyoTech classmate, Ben, came to visit friends and family on this special Valentine’s Day. It was such a great trip … Ben, who is from Illinois, had never been to California. The boys had a wonderful time and were already on their way back to Wyoming by Sunday evening.

Enjoying a special Valentine’s Day weekend adventure were our neighbors Donna and Dennis McCutheon. The couple loves to spend time together. They left Mitchell’s Harley Davidson at 10 a.m. on Saturday. They rode up to LaGrange, then rode through Snelling and they then came all the way back through Ceres. Donna and Dennis have a beautiful Harley and enjoy riding and seeing the sights quite often. On their way home they stopped and had a delicious lunch at a little Italian Bistro. They sure know how to enjoy their time together.

What a special Valentine’s weekend it was as well for our neighbors Kathy Burghardt Cobb and her wonderful husband. The couple celebrated a fabulous Valentine’s Day at Knowles Hill Inn; together they dined on a delicious four course meal. They had an amazing time before returning to Valley Home.

Steve Guerrero made sure his beautiful wife Lisa and his precious daughter Annie had the most wonderful Valentine’s Day. Even though Steve was working, he sent a Valentine bouquet to Lisa and a separate one to Annie, a special dad to daughter gift.

Our Valley Home Parent Teacher Club met last week and discussed plans for our upcoming spring Jog-a-Thon. We are very thankful to our PTC President Kendall Barton and her officers for all their hard work. Please, if any of you out there know of a school bus driver who is available, Valley Home School would like to hear from you.

Our Fire Board met this past Wednesday morning at our Valley Home Station. It was really nice hearing from Andrew Hunter. The next monthly Fire Board Meeting will be held in Knights Ferry. More information to come.
