Hi everyone, I hope you have each enjoyed the beautiful warm sunny weather of last week. It felt so much like spring. This week we are back to feeling a bit more like it’s February and wintertime. Probably just like all of you, I look forward to spring time. I hope you are all doing well.

Today I send “Congratulations” to our amazing Oakdale pilot, Lieutenant Dalton Stewart. Dalton is a graduate of our Oakdale  High School, Class of 2015.

I am sure his family is so very proud of him. It was an amazing sight as the combined flyover of the United States Navy, and the United States Air Force came to life over Super Bowl LX (60) on Sunday. The crowd cheered wildly as the freedom birds came into view high above Levi’s Stadium. It was definitely a proud moment for Dalton’s family and I’m sure for many of us here in our community. My heart skipped a beat at the sound and sight of Navy Lieutenant Stewart and his comrades roaring across the bright blue sky … and then the fist bump seen from inside the cockpit. It was such a powerful moment; a magical moment lasting just seconds but etched into our memories forever! Congratulations and a sincere thank you to our own Lieutenant Dalton Stewart and to each of the pilots and crew members of this amazing Navy and Air Force fly over. God bless our United States military; each and every one of you, past and present, you are deeply appreciated.

I would like to take this time to remember a very special man … CHP Officer Brandan Everett, who passed just over a year ago. Officer Everett spent much time here in Valley Home, attending our meetings and our events; always here to support our community. Rest in Heavenly Peace our dear friend, we miss you.
