Hi everyone. I hope each of you are doing really well. As I am sitting writing this, I am excited to see that blinding fog slowly giving way this morning to a beautiful sunny day. It just really lifts the spirits to see the sunshine. I know we need the rain … I sure don’t think we need that awful fog. I guess we really shouldn’t complain about any part of our weather here; I know many of us, myself included, had family and friends who were caught in the huge and very dangerous storm that is swept across much of our country. Our prayers are with everyone who are being affected by this powerful storm.

This week I sadly share the passing of a truly remarkable man, Manuel Rocha. Valley Home resident Chris Rocha has always been completely devoted to his beloved family. The passing of Chris’s dad Manuel, in December, was a heartbreaking time for the Rocha family. Manuel was the patriarch of this amazing family. We send our most heartfelt sympathy to Chris and Melanie, and the entire Rocha family. God has called home a man who made a tremendous difference during his time here on earth. Rest in Heavenly Peace, Manuel Oliveira Rocha … your legacy will live on forever; December 21, 1946 – December 23, 2025.

We are proud of each of our Oakdale High School graduates. We have a truly amazing high school; Go-o-o Mustangs! As we move toward Super Bowl 60, we look forward to a great game between the Patriots and the Seahawks. It is a great pleasure to share that one of our own, former student Dalton Stewart, is scheduled to pilot one of the F-18 jets that will fly over Levi’s Stadium at the Super Bowl! The fly over is traditionally during our National Anthem. This year the fly over is especially meaningful as it is our country’s 250th birthday. Dalton is a graduate of our Oakdale High School, Class of 2015. We will share more information about Dalton next week.

A quick note to let you all know … our amazing Jett, who is already undergoing radiation, will also be starting another regiment of chemotherapy. Let’s all keep praying for Jett; he is truly an amazing young man.
