Valley Home News 1-21-26
Winnie Mullins

Hello all, I hope you are each having a really nice week.

*****

This week I would like to share some of the information from our Valley Home MAC meeting and also information from our Valley Home Parent Teacher Club meeting.

Our MAC meeting was held Wednesday, January 14th at Valley Home School.

We would like to welcome Mr. Frank Toste to our Valley Home Municipal Advisory Council. We greatly appreciate Frank serving on the MAC. Our meeting was well attended with several Valley Home community members in attendance. We are very thankful for all who attended.

We are especially thankful for our County Supervisor Buck Condit; he has done so much for our community.

At Wednesday evening’s meeting, our Stanislaus County roads and public works personnel answered questions about road and property drainage. So much rain has caused problems within our area. Folks had a chance to address concerns and ask questions. Several community members voiced concerns about drainage issues. Our county officials were concerned and will work with Supervisor Condit on possible solutions and will visit again with us to get our input and work with us on addressing the issues. We are deeply thankful for our sheriff’s department, fire department, and our county behavioral health for sharing information with us.

Our fire department reported on a house fire on Christmas Day here in Valley Home. Although the investigation into its origin is still in progress, we were able to learn that there was a tremendous amount of ammunition in the house. I hope you will all come out to our next Fire Board meeting in February. Our February meeting will be held in Valley Home; more details to come. All are encouraged to attend.

Sheriff’s Department representatives also reported there was a report of a possible burglary in progress on Victory Avenue called into the department on December 29th. Several units responded to Valley Home, a chase ensued ending with the burglary suspect ditching his car and running and hiding from deputies. K-9 officers were brought in to help with the search. The burglary suspect, who was from Oakdale, was located and ended up being bitten by a very well trained K-9 officer. It’s sad that people try to take without permission what other people have worked so hard for. Just a note right here to say … it’s really good that we have so many folks in Valley Home that know how to protect themselves and their neighbors. A really special place to live.

Our next MAC Meeting will be held on April 8 at 6:30pm. Please plan to attend. MAC Members are Nancy Osmundson, Amanda Beltrami, Winnie Mullins, Chris Hempleman and our newest member Frank Toste.

This week our Valley Home Parent Teacher Club met on Thursday, January 15th to discuss plans for our spring Jog-a-Thon. Tasks were discussed and assignments were accepted by many hard working volunteers. It’s going to be such fun day, April 2nd.
