The San Joaquin Valley Swiss Echoes, a singing and yodeling club in Ripon since 1947, is having its annual spring concert and dance on Saturday, April 27 at 7 p.m. at the Swiss Hall in Ripon, on the corner of Manley and East Main streets. You will hear a variety of folk songs and yodels from the 34-member group, as well as special guests Martin Suter and his daughter Marion Bürgler direct from Switzerland. The talented Martin Suter family is from Rothenturm in canton Schwyz, Switzerland. Martin Suter, Sr. toured the US the first time in 1985 with Alois Schilliger and Walter Grimm. And a few years later with Rene Jakober, all well-known musicians in Switzerland. Suter has his own “Kapelle” back home, playing accordion with his son Martin Jr. and daughter Marion on the piano. There will also be a raffle with prizes, followed by dancing to the tunes of the Ron Scheiber Mike Inderbitzen Orchestra.

Admission to the concert and dance is $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Children under 16 are free. For more information, call Barbara Masterson at 209-667-1087.
