A staff development day is scheduled Monday, Aug. 4 in the Oakdale Joint Unified School District with the doors to all school sites opening for the first day of school on Wednesday, Aug. 6.
Oakdale High School, Oakdale Junior High, and the district’s four elementary school sites – Cloverland, Fair Oaks, Magnolia and Sierra View – will welcome students back for the start of the 2025-26 school year. The Back-To-School nights are also scheduled, with Oakdale High School having its event on Tuesday, Aug. 12; Oakdale Junior High on Wednesday, Aug. 13; Kindergarten through sixth grades at all sites on Thursday, Aug. 14 and East Stanislaus on Tuesday, Aug. 19.
Officials note that there are 180 student days this school year, with 90 days in the first semester and 90 days in the second semester.
Holidays on the list include Labor Day on Sept. 1; Veterans Day on Nov. 11; Thanksgiving Break, Nov. 27 and 28. Winter Break is scheduled from Dec. 22 through Jan. 2; Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Jan. 19; Lincoln’s Birthday will be observed on Feb. 9; Presidents’ Day observance will be Feb. 16. Also, Spring Break is April 3 through April 10.
Looking ahead to 2026, graduation will be May 20 for the Alternative Education programs within the district. The junior high graduation is scheduled for May 21 and the Oakdale High School graduation will be on May 22.
