Stockton Lantern Festival Lights Up The Night
LANTERN FEST PIX

This winter, Stockton Ballpark is being transformed into a magic forest with whimsical creatures and plants that are larger-than-life and glow at night. It’s all part of the first of its kind Stockton Lantern Festival, which will run for 52 bright nights, Nov. 24, 2023 through Jan. 14, 2024.

Put on by ASM Global, all are invited to the festival to follow “the footsteps of an eight-year-old boy named Koda to take on an exciting adventure to the deep woods of Caballococha, Peru.”

The lines of reality and imagination start to blur as you weave through the forest. All the larger-than-life art installations are handcrafted by lantern artisans employing the technique of traditional Chinese lantern making which enjoys a history of over 2000 years. Tens of thousands of LED lights, metal and fabric in vibrant colors are used to create unforgettable winter night lights experience. The magic begins when the sun sets, and the forest starts to glow at night.

Stockton Ballpark is at 404 W. Fremont St., Stockton, and doors open nightly at 5 p.m.

Tickets start at $19 for children ages 2 to 12; tickets for those 13 and older start at $23.

This unique walk-through experience is accompanied by live stage performances of music, dance, and acrobats. The Magic Forest is open to travelers of all ages to explore.
