Stanislaus County has met the requirements to move into the ‘Orange Tier’ of the State’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy. The California Department of Public Health announced on Tuesday that effective June 9, the county will be in the ‘Orange.’ This tier allows many activities to resume, according to the State’s expanded capacity limits and safety protocols, including: Indoor dining at maximum 50 percent capacity or 200 people maximum; Retail stores open with modifications (no capacity limit); Wineries and Breweries to open at 25 percent capacity or 100 people indoor maximum.

Also, Gyms and fitness centers at maximum 25 percent capacity, indoor pools reopened; Movie theaters at maximum 50 percent capacity or 200 people, whichever is fewer.

Zoos, museums, and aquariums can be at 50 percent maximum indoor capacity.

Local businesses must continue to follow all of the State’s guidance for their industry to ensure their establishments are safe for both their employees and clients. The shift to the Orange Tier comes as the County continues to expand its mobile vaccination efforts to more neighborhoods in the county.

“Reaching Orange Tier is reflective of our community’s conscious efforts in stopping the spread of COVID-19 and getting vaccinated,” said Dr. Julie Vaishampayan, Stanislaus County Public Health Officer. “As more people get vaccinated, the closer we get to ending this pandemic and saving lives. An additional benefit to getting vaccinated right now is that it will give people a chance to win incentives.”

Those who get vaccinated between May 27, 2021 to June 15, 2021 can receive a $50 store gift card or be entered to win cash prizes through California’s Vax For The Win program. Californians who have already received at least one dose are eligible to win the following cash prizes:

• $50,000 cash price to 15 winners on Friday June 11, 2021 (last draw was on June 4, 2021); and

• $1.5 million each to 10 total winners on June 15, 2021.

For rules, eligibility, and more details, visit the Vax for the Win website. Additionally, for each student getting vaccinated, Stanislaus County Public Health will contribute $1 to their school’s student body fund.

Vaccines are available to individuals aged 12 and over by appointment or walk-in. To encourage more community members to get vaccinated, the state of California is giving away cash and gift card incentives. Community members are encouraged to visit or call 1-833-540-0473 to find the nearest vaccination site, if they choose to make an appointment. Vaccinations are always free and open to those who live and work in Stanislaus County regardless of immigration status.
