Small American flags were placed on the graves of several hundred veterans buried at the Oakdale Citizens Cemetery on J Street, with Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts handling the bulk of the work on Saturday, May 25, prior to the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 27. The volunteer effort was a success, as the flags were evident throughout the cemetery for the weekend and Memorial Day itself.
