Oakdale’s Section champion soccer Lady Mustangs hit the road on Saturday, March 7 for a 5 p.m. contest in Salinas.
The girls will battle for the NorCal regional championship, looking to continue on for a chance at the state title.
The number two ranked varsity soccer girls will face the host number one seed Salinas Cowboys (21-1-1) in the state’s Division 3 tournament northern region final.
The southern regional finals match has number two seed Millikan hosting number four Quartz Hill, also at 5 p.m. Saturday.
Oakdale comes in to the contest against Salinas with a 23-2-2 overall record; they went 12-0 in Valley Oak League play to earn the league title, then claimed the Sac-Joaquin Section Division 4 blue banner, the first in school history for the varsity soccer girls program.
Winners of the two Saturday regional finals contests advance to the state championship game, scheduled for Saturday, March 14 at 12:30 p.m. at Natomas High School.
