Senator Andreas Borgeas (R-Fresno) has announced the availability of applications for the 2020-21 California Senate Fellows program. Oakdale is in the Senate district represented by Borgeas.

The Senate Fellows program provides college graduates an opportunity to become full-time Senate staff members at the State Capitol in Sacramento for 11 months beginning in October 2020. The fellowship program is jointly operated by the California Senate and the Center for California Studies at California State University, Sacramento.

“Fellows have a valuable opportunity to play a critical role in the legislative process,” said Senator Borgeas. “The caliber of the program equips young professionals with the necessary tools to thrive in the public and private sector.”

Fellows are paid a stipend of $2,794 per month plus health, vision, and dental benefits. In addition, they earn six units of graduate credit from California State University, Sacramento. Former Senate Fellows include current members of Congress and the California Legislature, judges, and numerous other elected officials and community leaders.

Senator Borgeas represents the 8th Senate District, which encompasses all or portions of Amador, Calaveras, Fresno, Inyo, Madera, Mariposa, Mono, Sacramento, Stanislaus, Tulare, and Tuolumne counties. For additional information about Senator Borgeas, visit his website at www.senate.ca.gov/borgeas.
