A multi-alarm fire in the 7000 block of Langworth Road saw units from Oakdale and surrounding communities respond to the scene about 5:45 p.m. on Sunday evening, Feb. 25. A large wood-frame shop was fully involved in flames, with fire already shooting through the roof of the structure, when the first firefighters arrived on scene. It took about an hour to get it under control, said officials, with several more hours spent on overhaul. The large column of black smoke visible early on drew several onlookers to the scene as well.
