The Stanislaus County Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) has published a draft of the 2025 Five-Year Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy report for the county. Now, officials are looking for your input.

Stanislaus County’s Economic Development Advisory Committee invites residents, businesses, and community stakeholders to review and comment on the Draft Stanislaus County Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), available for public review ahead of formal submission to the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA).

The CEDS outlines a five-year roadmap for fostering a resilient and broad-based local economy. It includes an overview of current economic conditions, identifies key strengths and challenges, and presents an Action Plan designed to guide strategic investments and regional development initiatives.

Community input is vital to ensure the final strategy reflects the priorities and needs of the people who live and work in Stanislaus County, officials said. All interested individuals and organizations are encouraged to review the draft and submit feedback.

A comment period is open now and runs through Wednesday, Aug. 20 at 5 p.m.

The Draft CEDS is available for review online and in person.

A CEDS is both a document and a process that helps communities strengthen their economic resilience. It provides a framework for building regional capacity, aligning resources, and guiding economic development efforts. An approved CEDS is a prerequisite for certain federal funding opportunities through the EDA.

A bureau of the U.S. Department of Commerce, the EDA supports locally driven efforts to create jobs and spur economic growth in distressed communities. Through competitive grant programs, the EDA invests in infrastructure, planning, and innovation to help regions build strong, sustainable economies.
