Porges Nonprofit Excellence Initiative applications open

Stanislaus Community Foundation (SCF), a charitable organization dedicated to stewarding charitable resources and building a more vibrant Stanislaus, recently announced the Porges Nonprofit Excellence Initiative is accepting applications for two of the 2026 program offerings. Created in partnership with the Porges Family Foundation, the initiative aims to increase the capacity of nonprofits in Stanislaus County by providing invaluable training opportunities for organization leaders and staff.

Applications are being accepted for Project REST and Project Succession.

Project REST: Transformative two-month sabbatical program to support nonprofit leaders in their leadership journey. This will serve as an opportunity to refresh and re-energize leaders to better engage within their nonprofit and the community they serve.

Project Succession: Succession planning program for nonprofit organizations, their executive directors and board of directors to help prepare for the future. Each organization will learn about the essential elements of succession planning, resulting in developing an emergency and departure-defined succession plan.

“With the launch of our third year, we’re proud to deepen our commitment to nonprofit leaders and teams, knowing that building their capacity ultimately strengthens the entire community,” said local philanthropist Evan Porges.
