The date for the Escalon Farmington Community Garden Club’s next meeting is Thursday, March 5.
Meeting time is 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with the gathering hosted at Escalon United Methodist Church, 2000 Jackson Ave., Escalon.
Topic for the meeting, which is open to all area gardening enthusiasts, will be the History of the California Penny Pines Program, presented by Beverly Ensley.
The Penny Pines Program is a California-based reforestation partnership, established in 1941, that allows individuals and groups to donate funds for replanting trees in National Forests, particularly after wildfires.
The guest speaker is first on the agenda, along with snacks, and then the business meeting will follow. There will also be drawings for door prizes. All are encouraged to join in and meet fellow gardening enthusiasts.
