Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 8-13-25

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27, 28, 29 and 30 in Oakdale, Knights Ferry and Valley Home as part of Battalion 5; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area, as part of Battalion 2. Note: Shifts are in 24-hour time periods, from 5 a.m. to 5 a.m.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Aug. 5 through Monday, Aug. 11. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, AUG. 11

Strike Team 4201-C is assigned to Division Kilo on a 24-hour assignment. Crews are assigned to the Gifford Fire in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara County.

Battalion 2: Crews completed weekly engine checks on their first out apparatus.

 

SUNDAY, AUG. 10

Battalion 2: Battalion 2 crews got in some fire engineer sign offs and training.

5:26 p.m. – Quint 22, Engine 9, Engine 21, Engine 23, and BC2 responded to Yosemite Boulevard for a possible structure fire. First arriving Quint 22 found vegetation behind a mobile home park burning and threatening. The fire was quickly contained to a 30’x100’ area.

 

SATURDAY, AUG. 9

Battalion 2: Battalion 2 companies completed Saturday drills.

11:58 a.m. – Engine 24, Grass 23, and BC2 responded to Modesto Reservoir for a jet ski rider found down in the water. The victim had been brought to shore when crews arrived and CPR was initiated by bystanders. ALS Fire and Ambulance took over patient care upon arrival and continued the efforts. The victim was pronounced at the scene.

 

FRIDAY, AUG. 8

Battalion 2: Companies completed daily apparatus and equipment checks.

5:33 p.m. – Engine 23, Engine 24, Quint 22, and Battalion 2 were dispatched to a potential structure fire around River Point Drive and Yosemite Boulevard. Upon arrival, Engine 24 found a vegetation fire located on the south side of the Tuolumne River. Crews were rerouted to the correct location. A one-acre vegetation fire with a moderate rate of spread was located off Lake Road. An arcing power line on the south side of the fire created access issues for the crews. The fire consumed two acres of grass and brush.

Battalion 5: Crews completed Target Solutions assignments, performed apparatus checks and station maintenance.

Crews performed company level training in their respective FMA’s.

12 p.m. – Engine 27, Engine 28, Engine 29, and Battalion 5 responded to an injury vehicle accident at Milton Road and Highway 4. Battalion 5 arrived on scene to find a three-vehicle accident at the intersection with a total of four patients. One patient was treated on scene with major traumatic injuries and was flown to Doctors Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. A second patient was treated on scene and later ground transported to Memorial Hospital. Crews remained on scene for an extended period to assist CHP with traffic control until the vehicles could be removed.

When returning from the Milton Incident Engine 27 stopped to assist a stranded motorist with a flat tire.

11:56 p.m. – Engine 28, Engine 27 and Battalion 5 responded to the report of an injury accident at Rodden Road and 28 Mile Road. Engine 28 arrived on scene to find one vehicle upside down off the roadway and checked for injuries. Two patients were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

 

THURSDAY, AUG. 7

Battalion 2: Companies completed daily apparatus and equipment checks.

Battalion 5: Crews completed Target Solutions assignments, performed apparatus checks, station maintenance and performed company level training in their respective FMA’s.

1:59 p.m. – Brush 28, OES4618, Engine 7 and Battalion 5 responded to the report of an injury vehicle accident on Lon Dale Road and Victory Avenue in Oakdale. Brush 28 arrived on scene to a two-vehicle accident on Lon Dale and checked for injuries. One patient was treated at the scene and transported for further care by Oak Valley Ambulance.

 

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 6

B15 and STL Serpa continue to work on assisting with the Rosa Fire in southern California.

MFD and SSL Crews attended a walk thru/pre plan at the Gallo Glass Plant.

Battalion 2: Crews completed weekly checks on the Water Tenders and Water Rescues.

Battalion 5: Station and apparatus checks were performed in Valley Home.

Engine 27 trained at Station 17 for an upcoming test.

Strike Team XST4201 performed a hose lay and did mop up in Div. B of the Rosa Fire in Riverside County.

 

TUESDAY, AUG. 5

Chief officers attended a command staff meeting at admin.

Battalion 2: Engines 24 and 26 attended National Night Out events.

Battalion 5: Engines 27, 28, 29 and BC5 attended various get togethers in community parks and block parties with local law enforcement to celebrate National Night out.
