Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 2-11-26

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27, 28, 29 and 30 in Oakdale, Knights Ferry and Valley Home as part of Battalion 5; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area, as part of Battalion 2. Note: Shifts are in 24-hour time periods, from 5 a.m. to 5 a.m.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Feb. 3 through Monday, Feb. 9. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, FEB. 9

Battalion 2: 8:59 p.m. – Engines 23, 24, and Battalion 2 responded to Modesto Reservoir for a solo vehicle into a tree. E24 was the first to arrive and reported two patients, one immediate and one delayed. The immediate patient was flown to Memorial Medical Center by PHI Air Ambulance, and the delayed patient was transported by Oak Valley Ambulance to Doctors Medical Center. CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.

Battalion 5: Crews performed company level training in their respective FMA’s, completed mandated Target Solution assignments and conducted weekly apparatus checks and station maintenance.

5 p.m. – Engine 28, Engine 27, Quint 22 and Battalion 5 responded to a potential structure fire on Tumbleweed Court in the City of Oakdale. Engine 28 arrived on scene with nothing showing and investigated. Engine 28 found a faulty lighting ballast with no fire. Engine 28 remained on scene to assist the homeowner and the remainder of the response was cancelled.

 

SUNDAY, FEB. 8

SATURDAY, FEB. 7

Hazmat team members continue to provide mutual aid coverage in San Francisco as part of the Superbowl 60 events happening in the city. Crews worked throughout the shift working with law enforcement at various NFL and city venues.

Battalion 2: 5:46 p.m. – Engines 23, 24, Quint 22, and Battalion 2 were dispatched to the 12000 block of La Gallina Avenue in Waterford for a reported oven fire. Engine 24 arrived and disconnected the oven’s power, confirming there was no fire. Engine 23 assisted with removing the oven, and all other units were canceled.

Battalion 5: Station 28 trained on Brush 28 and Rescue 28.

5:58 p.m. – Engine 28, Engine 27 and BC5 responded to River Road at Valley Home Road for a vehicle accident. Crews arrived to find two vehicles involved with several minor injuries.

 

FRIDAY, FEB. 6

Battalion 2: Engine 23 and Engine 26 trained on EMS skills at Fire Station 26.

Battalion 5: 8:17 p.m. – Engine 28, Engine 27 and BC5 responded to a three-car accident at the intersection of Albers and Patterson roads in Oakdale. One patient was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

 

THURSDAY, FEB. 5

Modesto Fire HazMat team members provided coverage in the city of San Francisco for Superbowl events. Modesto, Fresno and Tracy Fire worked together providing the coverage. SFFD Fire Chief Crispen welcomed the crews and thanked them for providing the coverage.

The MST fire academy continued with training evolutions. The drills focused on Engine Company Operations.

The MFD Explorer post conducted classroom training on fire behavior at Fire Station 4.

Battalion 2: Crews completed exterior station maintenance.

Boat 26 trained on the Stanislaus River.

12:47 p.m. – Engine 26, Engine 7, Truck 5 and BC5 responded to a vehicle collision on Patterson Road in Riverbank. One patient was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Battalion 5: Engine 28 along with Engine 26 conducted boat training in Riverbank on the Stanislaus River in preparation for the warmer weather and rafters on the river.

 

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 4

Hazmat Team members from Modesto are working with Fresno Fire and Tracy Fire hazmat members covering events in San Francisco for the Super Bowl this week as part of an OES state deployment.

Battalion 2: Crews rotated through EMS training at the RFTC.

8:23 a.m. – Engine 26, Engine 9, Truck 5, and BC5 responded for a possible structure fire on Eighth Street in Riverbank. Engine 26 arrived and found an electrical issue causing wires to melt. They cancelled the balance and mitigated the issue.

Battalion 5: 9:15 a.m. – Engine 28. Engine 27, Quint 22, and Battalion 5 responded to a potential structure fire on Longview Drive in Oakdale for a smell of gas in the residence. Engine 28 arrived at scene and found a slight odor of gas. PG&E was requested to the scene to assist.

Crews performed company level training in their respective FMA’s, completed mandated Target Solution assignments, conducted apparatus checks and station maintenance.

BC5 and Engine 27 attended the Hireback Committee meeting at admin.

Battalion 5 companies rotated through quarterly EMS training.

Engine 27 trained on parts ID for the upcoming Engineers promotional exam.

 

TUESDAY, FEB. 3

The MST Fire Academy started their first day of Engine Company Operations.

Battalion 2: Crews rotated through EMS training at the RFTC.

3:34 p.m. – Engine 24, Engine 28, Quint 22, and BC2 responded to Albers Road north of Yosemite Boulevard for a vehicle accident. There were four vehicles involved including a jack knifed semi with both directions of travel blocked. An arriving ambulance was also involved in a separate accident a half-mile north of the scene. In all six people were transported with non-life-threatening injuries. CHP is investigating.

Battalion 5: Engine 29’s crew took advantage of higher river flows and conducted boat training on the Stanislaus River.

8:30 p.m. – Engine 27 responded for an unknown type of fire on Crane and Highway 108. Engine 27 arrived on scene to find a homeless encampment on fire. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and limit spread to nearby vegetation.
