Oakdale Garden Club Prepares Rental Plots
GARDEN GRAPHIC

If you want to grow some vegetables, some flowers, or a little of both but don’t have the room, the Oakdale Garden Club has the answer.

The club will soon open garden plots at the Oakdale Community Garden, available for rent by the year.

The garden itself is adjacent to the Gladys Lemmons Senior Center, situated between East A Street and North Yosemite Avenue (Highway 120) on the north end of Oakdale.

Garden plots are 6-by-12 and rent for $60 per year. There is a reduced fee for seniors, ages 65 and older, with the plots costing just $20 per year.

There are also raised bed garden boxes for senior gardeners available for $20 a year.

All interested are encouraged to come sign up for a plot or simply to get more details, with an information session running on Wednesday, Feb. 15 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Gladys Lemmons Senior Center, 450 E. A St., Oakdale. Come at any time during the session to learn more.
