New Dog Park Breaks Ground On City’s East End

Ground breaking for the new Oakdale dog park, the second one for the city, took place this past week.

Along South Maag Avenue, next to Oakdale Junior High School, is the future home of Rudy’s Bark Park. Rudy is the golden retriever of local business owners Randy and Karen Basi, who helped sponsor the park. Central Valley Association of Realtors Oakdale and the City of Oakdale are project coordinators.

Following the groundbreaking on Aug. 23, the project was to see the beginning of official construction on Monday, Aug. 28. The work is expected to be completed in October of this year.

Rudy’s Bark Park has been in the works for two years is now becoming a reality. On hand for the groundbreaking ceremony were, among others, Oakdale Mayor Cherilyn Bairos, Randy and Karen Basi, Oakdale City Manager Bryan Whitemyer, representatives from Central Valley Association of Realtors Oakdale and more.
